Background
Green Frog Systems supplied 90 concrete block mounted 7m 60W solar lighting towers for the Northern Access Upgrade of a 4.4km section of the Bruce Highway through the northern section of Mackay. The upgrade is aimed at supporting the projected increase in traffic over the next 20 years in one of the fastest growing regions in Queensland.
Solution
Our GFS-400 Temporary Solar Street Light was identified as it met the lighting standard requirements and offered a reliable, vandal resistant solution that was centrally controllable and completely mobile.
The concrete blocks that the temporary lighting towers are mounted to is certified to the appropriate wind category for the location, wind Region C. One of the major advantages of this approach was the ability to relocate the lighting towers to meet the changing requirements of the construction period.
The temporary GFS-400 solutions included the patented Solar Activity Monitoring System (GFS-SAM). The system is designed to actively monitor and also control the solar lights from a remote location.
