5 x Irrigation Control Systems located around the City of Salisbury at various parks and sporting grounds could have been an expensive exercise for the City. The costs of cable trenching, power meter installation, ongoing supply charges, and the grid connection fee weighed up against the relatively low amount of electricity required to power the irrigation controllers pointed the city towards Green Frog Systems to design a suitable solar harvesting and energy storage device that would be independant of the power grid.

The GFS-200-ESS Energy Storage System provides more than enough battery storage and solar recharging capacity to provide a reliable power supply to the irrigation controls all year round. A secure, weather sealed enclosure housing the irrigation equipment was mounted via a support bracket welded to the pole. The control cabinet was positioned at head height for easy access for irrigation programming and locked to prevent unauthorised access. The structural strength, integrated vandal proof battery box enclosure and ease of installation ensure a simple and reliable solution.
